Omar Velasco’s self-titled EP combines a blend of Latin American and Afro-Cuban rhythms with English and Spanish lyrics, to create a unique and culturally diverse soundscape. This release marks the beginning of his exploration of Spanish language lyrics, his native tongue.
Velasco spent six years in A Fine Frenzy, the musical project of actress/songwriter Alison Sudol, before releasing his first solo album, Golden Child, in 2015.
His new EP — co-released with SipMusic Club and paired with a bottle of CORE Winery’s Tempranillo, a full-bodied Spanish wine made from black grapes — was released on August 27th, 2017.
